Hi Frank,

Since it looks like we're trying to figure out a good factor to multiply the number of official or registered buildings to get actual statistics, I'll chime in with what I know of our local rural community. We have 3 on the Straw Bale Registry, but 9 that I know of. the county is about 55,000 people. There may be a couple more built that I don't know of.

best,

  Hi Frank,

In 2006 i did a project with CMHC (Canada Mortgage and Housing) and documented 34 SB buildings in Atlantic Canada-
an estimated 50 had been built at that time.

At a guess I'd say there are at least another 25 more today. We don't have an official means of tracking them - so while I
used to eventually hear of most of those being built in Nova Scotia, now they are popping up all over with more local folks to act as resource people.

  Hope this helps!

  Kim,
From our small (not quite an island) paradise.
