I have been working on a project to build with compacted straw bales,
a 90 cm bale is reduced to 60 cm and reattached. This eliminates holes
that need stuffing, provides a more homogeneous and solid structure
and is much more insulating. I employ these for the underfloor, walls
and the roof in a continuous shell. I am building the prototype at the
