[GSBN] Post Fire Cleanup

After the arson attempt on the Millcreek triplex in Edmonton last year, the stink of the small fire was eliminated in three steps. The first job was to remove all the soot and dust on any surfaces, particularly the horizontal ones. These are the places where the insurance investigators said odours can persist; we took their advice and used the biggest shop vacs available.

In the next stage of the work, all the walls and the ceiling of the apartment were washed with a mix of soap, water and borax. 

The final step was to repaint all the drywall with a product call Kilz. The project designer described it as a vapour barrier paint.
