It's true and kind of impolite... i never did a presentation of myself. I have to say is due to a little shyness ...<BR>

So first the question: <BR>
The bale on Valencia house is simply sitting, with some pins to fix position, on wood X-lam structural floor. The floor is elevated about 30 cm from soil and this bale is connected with strings to the wall of X-Lam wood panel behind..So the entire house enclosure (floor-walls-roof) is made with X-Lam wood panels. Exterior walls are insulated with straw (on the outside-lke wrapping) Floor is insulated form inside with cork and roofs are insulated from outside with wood fiber panels. This house is a "poor" copy of the S-HOUSE <<a href="http://www.s-house.at/presentations.htm">http://www.s-house.at/presentations.htm</a>> - project of Austria. So there are no SIP. the X-Lam is now produce in Spain but we used the same austrian product (not very local but very useful :-,)- The house near Barcelona is the one the data i've sent referred to.<BR>

I'm 43 italian architect in barcelona, spain, since 16 years. I love being just "between" and living the contradictions of that, hoping always to stay "outside the box" and be a bridge (over troubled water:-)) for myself and others....i'm far from reaching that! :-D.<BR>

In 2001, edting a book about natural materials, i've met Maren Termens that show me the European and Global Network. <BR>
Since then i'm working on projects and divulgation of natural materials and especially straw. And worked with Maren and Rikki for the the Spanish Straw network casasdepaja.org | soplad, soplad! <<a href="http://">http://</a>www.casasdepaja.org/> as much as i could. I finally was able to attend ESBG of 2007 and 2009. <BR>

As much as I know some GSBN members and their work, others I don’t know at all. I visited your website (www.valentinamaini.net <<a href="http://www.valentinamaini.net">http://www.valentinamaini.net</a>> ) and enjoyed seeing your “Strawbale house near Valencia” and “Strawbale house near Barcelona”. I invite others to do the same. One question I have is what the detail is at the base of the bale wall for the Valencia house. Are the bales simply sitting directly on the wood platform? Also, are the roof and floor made of SIPs (structural insulated panels)?<BR>
