<div>Those pictures captures what words barely can. Toowoomba is 100 km west of
us. These pictures are unbelievable because the city is on top of a range, so
its own catchment is little more then what comes from the heavens. For the last
decade it has struggled with water supply due to droughts and dam levels around
8%. There are still 66 people missing from this event. </div>

<div>Floods come and go, but nothing can describe the the vast area of Australia
that has been impacted by this disaster.</div>
<div> </div>
<div>Queensland is completely saturated and every day there are new towns going
under water. It seems that there is not a major river system involved. An
upper Brisbane river town has just told everyone to get on their roof now due to
risk of further flash floods. The Wivenhoe Dam above was full with all flood
gates open yesterday. In a couple of hours this morning the dam received a
further 200mm (8 inches) + catchment area input. </div>

<div>We have just been told that Brisbane River has broken its banks in the city
and prepare for floods in Brisbane (Qld capital) that should peak on Thursday.
These will be record flood levels. Our evacuation centres have now been open.
Col and I are high and dry.</div>

<div>Not much we can do at present till the floods reside but I will get in and
help clean homes as I did as a child in Brisbane 1974 floods.</div>
