Dear Lars

I suggest the STEP-handbook (Straw Bale Training for European Professionals) Building Physics, section moisture:
http://strawbale.training/en/u6-building-physics-and-sustainability/
You have the online-version at the end of this website.
I think, after reading the common building physics principles, it is quite clear, why
* non-diffusion-open walls often tend to mold, especially in combination with low temperature heatings (and less convection)
* diffusion-open walls, especially plastered with hydrophilic clay, most times last for several centuries, as many Fachwerk-houses in France or Germany.

Liebe Grüße / kind regards
