G ' day Andy

Currently on the road and will be back in the office on Tuesday for 2 months
or so. I will answer your questions in detail then.

In the mean time here are some pics of the jumbo building we did in Geelong;

http://glassford.com.au/main/?page_id=272

The photos are not good as I had a disc crash at the time and lost the lot.
However somewhere I have a disc done by a friend and I will dig it up and
send you whatever you want.

Also I have photos of the Nulawalla Hall in Fairfield which is also a jumbo
bale building load bearing see:

http://glassford.com.au/main/?page_id=773

I have no problems with the height of the walls at 6.0 metres and what I
would do is to build them load bearing and use 2.4m x 900mm x 860mm jumbo
bales on their flat. That is build the walls all round at that height, You
will get a wall either 5.4 metres high with 6 bales or 6.3 metres with 7
bales on their flat plus bottom and top plates. Problem will be getting the
7th bale up you will need as good fork lift or front end loader.

I would also use the all thread rods fro compression even with the jumbo
bales. I am very confident that you will have no problems and require no
portal frames at 6.3 metres high. Now the gable ends could be treated
differently using small bales and I will expand on that next week you will
see what we did another winery although not as high as the Geeelong winery
see:

I have plenty of photos of this winery so let me know what you would like to
see.

You will need to think out side of the square on this one let me know what
size bales you can get in South Africa. I saw 2.4mx 900mm x 1.2 m bales
outside of Cape Town so you should be able to get 2.4 x 900 x 860/900 as
well.

All for now.

Kind regards
