Initially, I was thinking "simple" would suffice, along the lines of "home
movies" quality production values as opposed to TV or Hollywood production
values.
The thought was that the tour subjects would be less intimidated by
someone who just happened to have a small camera with them when they were
taking the tour, as opposed to making a big deal of it. Do the editing on
a home computer or home DVD recorder/player, burn the DVDs on demand.
Minimal fuss, minimal investment.
If it turns out that there is a great deal of interest in the DVD, then
perhaps the "home movie" footage could be integrated into a subsequent
fancier production in the manner that archival footage is incorporated
into documentary films ?
